Welcome to the Julington Academy of Martial Arts Student  Website

JAMA is dedicated to the strengthening of mind and body in a positive atmosphere for the whole family.   Classes are geared toward individual interests and personal achievement, and are taught in a group or private setting.

Our programs include:

Tae Kwon Do (for all ages)

Tae Kwon Do ("the way of the hand and foot") has become one of the most recognized martial arts on Earth. The art and the philosophies it encompasses provide the foundation for our teaching system.  In addition to the combative and sporting aspects of Tae Kwon Do, the art also provides a number of additional benefits, each governed by the five tenets of Tae Kwon Do:  Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control and Indomitable Spirit.

  Controlled Combative Training

What is CCT?  It is a method of teaching and applying Traditional and Non-Traditional Martial Arts in a safe, effective, real, less rule-cumbersome training.  CCT allows the strikes that have been illegal in some traditional styles, also more than the senseless rolling around of Jui-Jitsu.  It includes training in techniques from styles like Kung Fu, TKD, Judo, Kickboxing, Jui-Jitsu, Arnis, Krav Maga, Shotokan and others… CCT is real-life learning, but is controlled.  The striking is traditional in training with contact rules but allows for non-traditional strike areas. Takedowns, sweeps, and throws are also allowed without the dangers of mindless ground and pound.  Pressure points and joint manipulation will be learned and allowed as a regular part of training.  A tap out is good, but this class focuses on how to escape the traditional moves that cause the tap out with real life counterattacks without the restrictions of MMA (Sport Fighting) rules that don’t allow joints and other non-traditional, but are very effective targets, to be attacked.

Self Defense Courses

This is mental and physical training to help you remove yourself from harms way.  Our program uses the acronym TAG, meaning Think, Attack, and Get Away.
